The poker sets, themselves, are nice. The wood appears to be nice. Chips are heavy and feel like heavy-duty casino chips. Once finished, the box looks like the picture. Four issues came up for me, though I'll keep the sets: 1) the biggest issue: I bought these for the personalization, but the personalization was not as cool as I thought. It turns out the brass(?) personalized nameplate comes taped to the bottom of the box, leaving you to stick it on top of the wood. It looks OK when stuck on, but I was left with a bit of a bad taste knowing the "personalized" set just comes from basically taping a nice sticker to the top of the box (plus, what if I stick it on wrong and it's stuck in a off-center position forever? At the very least, the company should line up the nameplates and stick them on before shipping, but also there should be an inset in the wood where the nameplate goes - it's definitely possible it gets knocked off over time). 2) The card decks are different colors. This is minor gripe, but imo when giving two decks, they should always be the same color (otherwise, how can you ever play two-deck games?). Since I ordered 6 I can just switch them up, so no biggie. 3) Another minor gripe: The free gift of a novelty flask is terrible. It feels like these were ordered to sell them, but then the first person to unpack them immediately realized no one would ever, ever buy one, so they're giving them away. But even free, it's basically trash. There is no functional use for these flasks - not even as a novelty item ("here, take this comically oversized flask that you literally cannot find any use for, that you cannot carry anywhere!"). I have no idea what to do with my 6 gallon-sized flasks - because I'm not giving them to my groomsmen. 4) The box is kind of awkward to open - the position of the handle and the "lock" are awkwardly placed such that the actual opening of the set is slightly awkward (your fingers are scrabbling to get around the handle to open the lock). It's a minor gripe, but noticeable after a couple of opening/closing. Overall I'm keeping them and giving them to my groomsmen, because poker will factor into our day-of events so I like the thematic connection plus giving them something they can use, but I felt the product overpromised the personalization factor compared to what I ended up getting.
Thanks for your order and for taking the time to leave this feedback. We're glad to hear that you're impressed with the actual product itself and sorry that some of the other aspects didn't fully live up to your expectations. The details on the cards and the personalization are clearly stated in the listing. We don't attach the engraved plate so you can place in the location of their choosing. We do this based on customer feedback we've received in the past. Regarding the free gift, you didn't pay extra for the flasks and you're under no obligation to keep them. If you don't think your groomsmen would enjoy them, you can donate or discard them as you see fit.
